Following the confirmation of several cases of Lassa fever in Nigeria, The Lebanese Community in Kano, on Tuesday 28th January 2020, donated medicine, medical equipment, sanitary and hygienic products including personal protection kits. This initiative comes as support to the Ministry of Health in Kano State in its fight against the outbreak of Lassa fever in the state. The contributions were received by Commissioner Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Gesto, the Permanent Secretary and Dr. Imam Wada Bello, the State Director of Emergency Operation Centre under the State Ministry of Health in Kano.
The Lebanese Community continues to support the efforts of the Ministry of Health and maintains close contact with health authorities in order to raise awareness on prevention and treatment of Lassa fever.
